I was searching for some time for a nice watch to wear to work.

I was drawn to this watch because of its looks.

It arrived quickly, and so did my dissapointment. The watch looks nice, but unless you have young eyes with perfect vision you will have trouble telling the time (due to the white hands on a silver background).

The stopwatch hands are so small it would be pointless trying to use it.

It does nothing else and i cannot for the life of me figure out how the purchase value is as high as it is.

It would be fine if it had cost £20.00

Very dissapointed with this watch.

I think that this is a very good looking watch ( I've always thought Casio watches are good value for money) its a nice expensive looking watch (which at this price is not). Spot on for timing to the second updated each day. The only gripe is only the little date/digital time segment at the bottom lights up, if the whole dial lit up it would have 6 stars. I have had mine for over a year now and its screen has no scratches, for me this is excellent the glass must be toughened. It took me 5 minutes to ajust the strap to fit Perfectly.

Its solid reliable and very accurate -used to set other clocks with.



The bracelet is comfortable, good clasp (makes a change from other brands)

and the watch is simple and effective to read and use.



Always used in the wet, very reliable and can be cleaned under the tap with a brush. No Leakage, no complaints.



Mineral glass strong and does not scratch -unlike the £20 cheapo range which scratched in the first 2 weeks.

This ones good and the buttons still work, unlike the Timex, after a year.

This watch is amazing. It looks stylish and the technology is increadable, that is the wave ceptor tech. Moving on, it has a small digial screen, which is a good idea as you can read the time both from the analog and from the digial format. It has alot of useful functions from time keeping, storing time, for instance from the start to the end of an event or mroe basicaly setting up an alarm. It took me abit of time getting use to usign the watch but it was very easy as there a manual provided if you get stuck.





I mainly purchased the watch becuase of the wave ceptor aspect and to note that casio are the best manufacterers of this in the market. Im happy with the watch overall and theres alot of other models in this series aswell.



Adjusting the brands wasn't a problem as i took it to a local store who charged only £1.50 and it was done instantly.

A great watch with some awesome features and attractive styling.



As with any item with lots of features, setting up can be a little frustrating. I kept mixing up the "time keeping mode" with one of the other display options, but I got there in the end. Following the instructions, I picked up the time signal first time. It is reassuring to know that the watch will always show the correct time.



The instruction book included in the box did not give any mention of how to adjust the strap. With many watches, this is just a matter of using a pin, or similar, to unlock links in the stainless steel buckle/wristband. With this watch the procedure is similar although you'll need something stronger than a pin. On the inside of the strap are a number of arrows. To remove a link I used a small precision screwdriver (packs of these, sometimes called jewellery tools or eye glass tools, can be bought for around £5 or so) to firmly press the end of one of the pins in the direction of the arrow. The pins securing the links are split pins and these require a considerably harder push than the spring loaded pins on my last watch. If you do not feel safe doing this yourself, a jewellery shop will, I am sure, help you out for a fee. However, when you buy something online, you don't expect such a visit to be necessary.



Anyway, having sorted out the strap, I am absolutely delighted with the watch. It surprises me that Casio seem to be the only major watch manufacturer who have embraced the idea of synchronising watches with the radio time signals.

Decent watch and quite robust. It looks pretty nice. The only real problem is the design of the hour hand and the second hand. The hour hand has very little luminous paint on it, whilst the second hand has a pronounced circular blob of paint at it's opposite end. This means that at a glance, in daylight or at night, the two prominent positions are the minute hand and the tail of the second hand (see the picture on Amazon). this makes it easy to misread the time unless you really study it. I managed to rectify the problem by taking the watch apart and breaking the entire second hand off with a small needle. I no longer have a second hand but at least I can tell the time easily. Good watch, poor design.

Owned this watch for two years and have worn it mountain biking, white water rafting, snorkling, swimming and to the water park. Apparently it will still function 100 meters under the deep blue sea however should I find myself there, telling the time will be the least of my worries. Face guard has kept the glass scratch free. On the minus side paint wears off the guard leaving the watch looking tatty, is difficult to read at a glance (stupid hour hand is a victory for style over functionality and can't be read in the dark...oh! and the strap retainer has split.

Everybody has something they like to look at and buy - it has always been watches for me, I have so many that my wife thinks I have a problem! When I started my teaching career I wanted a reliable, easy to read and comfortable watch and came across these Waveceptors. I can honestly say that this one ticks so many boxes that I can't see myself buying another watch again.



Why does it stand out? Well:

It updates the time so you can trust its accuracy

It charges itself using the solar face so there are no battery changing issues

It is mega-comfortable (metal straps get to me after a few hours), the strap is *very* well made and long-lasting

You can see the time and date in a format that suits you



There are a couple of things that could be improved, but in my opinion these are quite minor: the backlight is poor and the stopwatch is not very good for any times longer than 90mins due to the small display. It has also become out of synch between digital and analogue and also become confused about daylight saving, but a quick quech of the manual has sorted these out very easily. Ah well, I'll live.



As another reviewer has stated - shop around. The prices seem to fluctuate wildly between retailers.

I bought mine about 7 years ago and it is still working with the original battery. Only problem is that last week the strap broke and it has to be sent back by a retailer to Casio to be replaced.



Functions are clear, easy to use and it's great to have a watch that is always accurate to the second and thanks to the solar power has not needed any battery replacement.

This is the second of these watches I've bought as I wanted a spare. This really is the best watch I've ever owned. Accurate to the second due to the twice daily radio wave updates. Never have to adjust the day/date for odd months or for BST again. Only downside is the the strap fixing is specific to Casio watches so new straps have to be specially bough and fitted by jewellers/watchmakers.

Mine was working, and correctly set, right out of the box, so I didn't have to trawl through the manual before I could use it. I've had mine a couple of months now, with no problems. The solar-charged battery always seems to be fully charged despite the dull weather. My only gripe is that it's much thicker than my last watch, and its four buttons (my previous radio-controlled watch only needed two) are so big that it's almost impossible to pick it up without pressing one accidentally.

It's much slimmer than earlier waveceptor watches, and has a stainless case as well as bracelet (some waveceptors have a metal-look plastic case). Beautifully made.



The hand you might think is the second hand actually isn't - it's only used for the stopwatch. The second hand is the one in the small central dial at the bottom of the face.



A bit fiddly to set up because it came with Paris set as the home city, so it was an hour fast. To get London set means going through every other time-zone, and this operation probably took 10-15 minutes. But I will never need to do that again, so not a problem,

Only received this watch yesterday so can't comment on reliability yet. Great looking watch with a nice weight to it and a strong, bright illuminator. I have quite small wrists but found the actual face to be not too imposing, a problem i've had with other diver-style watches. Only minor gripes i have are that the screw down crowns are a tad too big for my liking and that the bracelet feels and sounds a little on the cheap side in comparison to the build quality of the rest of the watch. Otherwise, it's a terrific product especially when you consider the price.



n.b The glass face and bezel are slightly convex, which you can't see from the photo. As it comes, the bracelet is very large so you may need to spend an extra couple of quid to get it adjusted.

I bought this watch for my 16 year-old son as he wanted a steel strap and this watch seems to be one of only a few that have a steel strap on a reasonably cool looking watch. I would say the watch looks far better in reality than it does in the photos.



This model is the AQ-164WD-1AVEF which is a new one in the Casio Sports range. It feels robust and looks durable. The strap was fairly easily adjusted by taking out a couple of links to make it smaller and these can be put back in if necessary. I bought if from a third party shop called 'Shock' who were excellent.



The watch has a multi-function alarm, a stop watch with several features, auto-calendar up to 2099, a countdown timer and a great back light. This is a combination watch with both analog and digital displays with month/day/date and hours/minutes/seconds which are all clear to read. Although it's hard to notice on the photo the seconds are counted round the edge of the display by small black stripes filling the larger "clear" dashes between the numbers and this is quite cool.



I gave it four stars as I think it is good value for money and looks cool but because it is cheaper it doesn't have as many features as some fancier watches.

I purchased this as a birthday present for my husband.It arrived promptly and he loves it. It is slightly lighter than the non titanium version which my son has. Slightly disconcerting when you first unpack it, as the hands went backwards on receiving light to set the correct time. Although he's only had it for a couple of weeks he's extremely happy with it. Definitely recommended.

Don't hesitate, just buy it. Every function like nearly all Casio watches is clear and simple. No batteries to worry about it updates itself even when you cross the channel, you can read it in the dark in fact if you like playing with watches this probably isn't for you. It just looks after itself.

I never spend a lot of money on watches because of the treatment I give them and this has had some hard knocks but still looks the part.

This is my second Waveceptor watch and I purchsed it two years ago. The only reason I bought this model was beacause the paint came off around the watch face on my first one and it looked very bad. I assumed as this one was titanium I would not suffer the same problem - how wrong I was. I now know the watch face is not titanium and now I am back where I started with a bad looking watch! I think this is misleading advertising. I must admit I wear my watch 24 hours a day and keep it on whatever I do- perhaps if you are careful this problem might not arise.

One factor on this watch, which I thought was a backward step by Casio, was that on the first model the backight lit the whole face whilst on this it only applies to the digtial area. In the middle of the night when I am not fully awake I find it impossible to read as it is so small and the luminous arms do not seem to be so clear.

Otherwise this watch is perfect.

What a fantastic product this is - i can't praise it highly enough. The specs are great as you can read for yourself, but they don't really do it justice. This watch has a fantastic feature in that the hands each seem to be driven by a different motor. So the minute hand and the second hand are ALWAYS kept in perfect alignment - the minute hand seems to update its position three times a minute (at 0, 20 and 40 secs) to the correct location. When the time zone changes etc. the the hands all just wizz round to the correct place. Consequently the analogue time is PERFECTLY synchronised to the digital time, and this also synched to the radio signal. So the entire display is totally accurate to the second. Brilliant!



It's also incredibly light, and the solar power re-charge works great. Just one minor niggle - the light. First off you don't really need it because the florescent hands are very bright all night and very easy to read. But if you do press it it only lights up the digital section of the display. This seems a bit crazy to me as this just shows the date and i rarely need to know the date in the middle of the night - would have been better if it switched the digital display to time when you pressed the light. But this is a small fault.
